With beautiful year-round weather and stunning views at every turn Maui might well be an ultimate golf getaway. On Maui, golfers can choose from 14 courses that will challenge a variety of skill levels. The PGA TOUR’s Tournament of Champions is held here each year and several of the Maui courses are ranked at or near the top of the “world’s best” lists.
Blue Course at Wailea Golf Club
Wailea Resort’s original layout, beautiful and gracious, hails from an era when character defined the golf course. In the case of this renowned Arthur Jack Snyder design, the Blue is aptly nicknamed the “Grand Lady of Wailea.” THe picturesque fairways guide guests on a relaxing jaunt through the heart of resort, offering inviting views of Maui’s neighboring islands and its 10,023-foot dormant volcano, Mt. Haleakala.
Gold Course at Wailea Golf Club
The Wailea Gold was created by architect Robert Trent Jones II, and has been called a “thinking player’s course,” offering a true test of one’s golf skills. Strategy and finesse are important to playing the Gold well, and the course’s intriguing risk-reward choices makes it possible to use every club in your bag. Perhaps the most difficult hazards on the Wailea Gold, however, are the distracting island views.
Plantation Course at Kapalua
Recognized as the best golf course in Hawaii for twelve consecutive years by Golfweek, the Plantation Course is home to the PGA TOUR's Sentry Tournament of Champions. The Bay Course has hosted over 20 professional tournaments - the most of any neighbor island course - and features the only hole to play over the ocean on Maui.
The King Kamehameha Golf Club
The King Kamehameha Golf Club is Maui's premier private golf club in Maui, Hawaii. The club's 74,000 sq.ft. clubhouse is designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and sits at 750 feet above sea level offering Haleakala, as well as bi-coastal ocean views. The golf club was named to honor the greatest king in the history of the Hawaiian Islands. The unification of the islands into a peaceful and prosperous kingdom has become his legacy, and our inspiration to honor the culture of Hawai'i and foster an awareness of the 'aina (land) and its malama 'aina (native resources).
With some of the best greens on Maui, this layout will test your course management skills. Newly renovated, the Kai Course places a premium on accuracy off the tee and a deft touch around the greens. The Ka’anapali Kai Course has beautiful views of the Pacific and neighboring islands and is home of the Golf Channel’s #1 series, Big Break Ka’anapali.
