Whether youโre looking for a beachfront resort or a cozy spot that feels like home, Maui has tons of great options and Iโm here to save you the time of endless scrolling and review reading.
So sit back and relax while I help you decide where to stay!
Famous Maui Hotels that Deserve a Spot In Your Itinerary!
I haven’t stayed at every hotel on this list (hey, one can dream!), but I’ve rounded up the best Maui hotels based on expert advice, tons of research, user reviews, and, of course, top amenities. Let’s get started!
Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa
If you want to stay where the action is, Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa is the place to do it. Right on Kaโanapali Beach, this one is all about location, location, and location!
Since this is one of the oldest hotels on the island, the resort literally wraps around Black Rock, a hot spot for cliff diving and snorkeling, so you’re just steps away from some of the best underwater adventures on the island.
Here, you can watch nightly cliff diving ceremonies lit by tiki torches, and during the day, you’ll see plenty of people attempting their best cannonball into the crystal clear waters below.
But waitโthere’s more! I mean, plenty of chill. I’m talking about oceanfront pools, private cabanas, and even a luau under the stars.
And when you’re ready to wind down, the rooms give off serious island vibes, with ocean views thatโll have you watching sunsets from your balcony every night. Whether youโre up for exploring or just relaxing with a tropical drink in hand, Sheraton Mauiโs got you covered.
With 23 acres on Kaanapali Beach, youโll have views of the sister islands Lanai and Molokai and the West Maui Mountains.
This resort has so much to do youโll never want to leave. Take a dip in the 142-yard lagoon-style pool, or stop by the Water Sport Rental Desk to grab anything from paddleboards to snorkeling gear.
The pool is surrounded by lush gardens and is a decent size with a separate shallow area for the keiki. Every day thereโs something going onโyoga, hula lessons, lei making. If youโre into sports they have tennis and pickleball courts (and yes, the gear and court access is all part of your $40-a-night resort fee).
Down by the beach, you can rent surfboards, paddleboards, or kayaks to hit the water. If you have your own snorkel gear, head over to Black Rock, where you’ll see sea turtles and all kinds of fish. Just watch out for the cliff jumpers!

If youโre dreaming of an ultra-luxurious escape in Maui, look no further than the award-winning Four Seasons Resort Maui.
Nestled along the stunning Wailea Beach, this place is the epitome of Hawaiian luxury and relaxation. From the moment I stepped onto this property, I was greeted with breathtaking ocean views and that warm, friendly Aloha spirit.

The pools here are nothing short of spectacular, including an adults-only pool thatโs perfect for those peaceful, kid-free moments.

If you’re looking for a place that nails both luxury and Hawaiian vibes, the Hyatt Regency Maui is the spot. The resort is sprawling, with tropical gardens, waterfalls, and even penguins (you read that right)!
The beachfront location is perfect, especially for catching epic Maui sunsets.

Here’s my favorite part of this resort: The hotel offers an astronomy tour where you can stargaze through high-powered telescopes on the rooftop. Itโs mind-blowing how clear the night sky is in Maui! Did you know that the Hawaiian islands are some of the best spots for stargazing in the world?

Westin Maui Resort and Spa
Located on the west side of Maui, this luxury resort has ocean views that are worth every penny! As soon as you walk in, the lobby hits you with major tropical vibes, and it only gets better from there.
Tip: If you can get an Ocean Tower room, the sunsets from your balcony are absolutely magic.

Fairmont Kea Lani
Located on Polo Beach, at the south end of Wailea Resorts, Fairmont Kea Lani is the place to go if you want luxury wrapped in Aloha vibes.
This all-suite resort in Wailea balances indulgence and island relaxation just right. I stayed here, and let me tell you, the rooms are massive!
Each suite has a separate living area, so there’s plenty of space to spread out. Perfect if you’re traveling with family or just need to escape for some solo chill time. Even their smallest suite is 860 sq ft, and if you’re traveling with a bigger group, they have two โand three-bedroom villas to spread out in.
Tip: Book a villa if you can. You’ll get your own plunge pool. And their sunset views? Unbelievable.
One of the best things about Fairmont Kea Lani is how it combines luxury with Hawaiian culture. They have all sorts of curated activities, like self-guided scavenger hunts and a nightly torch-lighting ceremony, which is pretty cool. If you ever wanted to be a mermaid, they have a Mermaid University (yes, it’s as fun as it sounds!), and if you want to chill out, you can learn to play the ukulele.
For the active types, their wellness program is great, and you can rent all sorts of gear from Wailea Scuba, Surf & Paddle down at Polo Beach. Whether you want to snorkel, paddleboard or just cruise along the coast they have you covered.
If you’re there in the winter, keep an eye on the water. You might see a humpback whale breaching while you’re walking along the beach. It’s a regular sight in Wailea, but never gets old.
Now, the pools are another story โ they have an adults-only pool if you want some peace and quiet and a family pool with a 140-foot waterslide that will bring out your inner child. And don’t miss the cabanas. They’re worth every penny for a day of lounging in the shade.
If youโre a beach person youโre in luck. The resortโs beach is chefโs kiss and way less crowded than some other spots on the island. You can snorkel right off the shore or just sink into a beach chair and let the waves be your background music.
Finally, you have to go to Ko for dinner! It’s out-of-this-world, farm-to-table Hawaiian food, and their taro pancakes are to die for.
